The purpose of this Hack for the Planet Hackathon is to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds to collaborate and develop innovative solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals related to the planet. The SDGs that the teams are expected to collaborate on include:
- Water conservation and management (SDG 6)
- Sustainable consumption and production (SDG 12)
- Climate action and reducing greenhouse gas emissions (SDG 13)
- Conservation of oceans and marine resources (SDG 14)
- Biodiversity and ecosystem conservation (SDG 15)
The Hackathon is a one-day event where teams of participants will collaborate on projects with the support from mentors and judges. This Hackathon brings together 5 Universities including Makerere University business school, Uganda Institute of Information Communication and Technology, Kyambogo University, Uganda Christian University and Cavendish University.
